Lidl are promoting a new neighbourhood foodstore on land at Manor Road, Hayling Island. The site comprises of a parcel of open land currently used for grazing, situated at the junction of Manor Road and Church Road, on the northern edge of the urban area.
As part of our ongoing commitment to public consultation, we are delighted to be able to provide members of the local community with an overview of our exciting development proposals. This website provides information on our draft planning application that will in due course be submitted to Havant Borough Council.
We have scheduled a Public Consultation Event for Friday 10th March (10am to 7pm) at the South Hayling United Reformed Church, Hollow Lane, Hayling Island, PO11 9EY to allow local residents and other interested parties the chance to offer their opinion and suggestions while learning more about the development.

Lidl UK have been seeking a suitable site within the district centres on Hayling Island for a number of years without success. Due to our business model we require a site large enough to accommodate a store with a minimum floor area of 2,400 sq m with adequate car parking. Generally, this means we need sites of c. 2 – 2.5 acres. We also require sites with direct and/or easy access to the main road network as well visibility from the main road network.

10.07.17 – Planning application submitted!
We are delighted to report that our planning application has now been submitted and registered as application number APP/17/00656. The application is due for decision at the end of September. We will endeavour to keep the website updated with any delays in determination.
